The Bankruptcy Courts have accommodated some of our clients during this COVID-19 situation by suspending payments in chapter 13 cases.

Similarly, there are “force majeure” event that would excuse or suspend the performance of any obligations under a contract such as your rental agreement.
A force majeure clause excuses a landlord or tenant from performing certain obligations under a lease when it becomes impossible for them to do so due to unavoidable events outside of their control.   At Terzian Law Group, we are willing to assist our clients in maintaining their businesses and renegotiating the lease terms outside of bankruptcy.  If you are a small business and need assistance, we can request from the Courts that we suspend your obligations under a lease.

Please give us a call and let us help you understand how these issues may affect you.
